John Kabrick, 1838-1920

Funeral services for the late John Kabrick were held from the Roy L. Cobb chapel Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. C. Taylor, pastor of Grace M. E. church, and burial was made in Riverside cemetery.

John Kabrick was born in Hampshire county, West Virginia, on January 7, 1838, and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. E. Strike, at Verndale, Minnesota, on August 26, 1920, aged 82 years, 7 months and 19 days.

He was united in manage to Miss Catherine Utley in 1866, who preceded him in death in 1887. This union was blessed with two sons and two daughters, namely, Mrs. Irene McCord, who died in 1900; George Kabrick and Mrs. W. E. Strike of Verndale, Minnesota, and Elmer Kabrick of Spencer; also one brother of Spencer are left to mourn his death.

For twenty-one years, the family lived in Benton county, Iowa, and then moved to O'Brien county, Iowa, and then moved to O'Brien county, Iowa, where they lived until 1893 when they moved to Spencer where the deceased lived until 1913 when he moved with his daughter, Mrs. W. E. Strike, and son, George, to Verndale, Minnesota, where he lived until his death.
