Memorial services for Leonard Samuel Heikens,70, of Westminster, Colorado and formerly of the Clay County were held October 20 at the Presbyterian Church in Westminster.
Gravesite memorial services were held Thursday, October 23, at the Summit Township Cemetery. The Rev. Jerry Brown officiated.
The son of William and Martha Heikens was born February 13, 1910 north of Spencer. He married Elsie Mae Krambeck on January 31, 1935 at Ackley and they farmed in Clay County until moving to Colorado in 1945.
He died October 17 in Westminster.
Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant sister and two brothers, Clarence and Warren.
Heikens is survived by his wife, Mae; three sisters, Anna Nattress, Gladys Heikens and Lillian Watts and one brother Merle Heikens.
