Louizza (Louise) Douwina (Dykstra) VanEnter
May 29,1904-1987

First Reformed Church of Clay County was the setting for funeral services in memory of Louise Van Enter on Saturday, June 6, 1987 with the Rev. Steve Hyma officiating.

Pallbearers; Elmer Dykstra, Vernon Dykstra, Douglas Nielsen, Ed VanHolstein, Jeff Swinbank, David Phipps and Jaris Mulder.

Honorary Casket Bearers: Dick Beving, John Schoorman and Harm Meyer.

Louizza (Louise) Douwina Dykstra was born May 29, 1904 at Tappen, North Dakota, to Bendert Aaldrick and Jennie Marie (Nieswaag) Dykstra. She was the second of seven siblings.

At a very young age, she moved with her family to Parker, South Dakota. She attended Turner County Schools; but completed her education at Sheldon, Iowa. She cared for her grandmother until her grandmother's passing. Louise then entered business college in Sioux Falls, only to return short months later to care for her terminally ill mother and five younger brothers and sisters.

Following a long distance romance, she was united in marriage to Albert Edward Van Enter and returned to the Turner County, South Dakota area. The ceremony was performed on December 15, 1927 at the First Reformed Church in Sheldon.

To this union three children were born.

The family moved to the Everly area in early 1938. They established residence on their rural Fostoria farm in 1940.

Louise made her home there until six years ago, when she moved to Northshire in Spencer.

Louise enjoyed her family, her church and women's guild activities, her garden and flowers, and her handicrafts. She was employed at St. Luke's at Spencer, in food service for 10 years.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Phyllis and husband, Donald E. Nielson of rural Everly; son, Norman J. and wife, Deanne Van Enter of Urbandale; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Aldrich of Boulder City, Nebraska; two sisters, Marie Dykstra of Sutherland and Alberta Mead of Grandville, Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one daughter, Ardelle Ann, one brother, two sisters, and one great-grandson.

Interment in the First Reformed Church Cemetery followed the service.

Warner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
