Clara Johnson Dies At State Hospital

Miss Clara Elizabeth Johnsen, a resident of Clay county for the past sixteen years, passed away last Friday, June 20, at the State hospital at Iowa City. At the time of her death caused from complications. Miss Johnsen was 36 years, 2 months and 13 days old.

The body was brought to Spencer where funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon of this week at 2:00 o'clock from the chapel of the Cobb Funeral home. Rev. Hamerle of Arnolds Park, Iowa, had charge of the services. Burial was made in the cemetery in Meadow township.

Clara Elizabeth Johnsen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Johnsen of near Moneta, was born in Ancona, Ilinois, April 7, 1894. At the age of four years, with her parents went to Buena Vista county, Iowa, where the Johnson family settled on a farm near Sioux Rapids and lived there for ten years. In 1913, they moved to a farm northeast of Spencer where they had since lived.

Miss Johnsen is survived by her parents, one brother, Oscar Johnson, at home, and numerous other relatives and many friends.
