Herman Roskens
March 22, 1915-April 30, 1936Herman Roskens, 21, whose tragic death occurred last Thursday, April 30, when he was pinned beneath a horse hurled in the air as a tornado struck the Henry Winterboer farm northeast of Everly where he was working, was given funeral services Monday.
The rites were held at 2 p.m. at the Reformed Church west of Fostoria with Rev. Ted Schoon, Pastor in charge. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Roskens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Roskens, living five miles north of Everly, was born March 22, 1915, at Everly, Iowa. He received his education in the country schools and was early baptized in the Christian faith at the Reformed Church.
He made his home with his parents but at the time of his death was working at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Henry Winterboer.
He is survived by his parents, three brothers, Eite of Milford, Evert and Harold at home; two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
