Services Held Tuesday For Riner S. Meyer

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, October 2, 1945, at the Cobb-Warner Funeral Chapel for Riner S. Meyer, who passed away in Spencer on Sunday, September 30. Services were conducted by Rev. DeVries of Sibley and Rev. Chipperfield of Fostoria. Burial was made in the First Reformed Cemetery 7 miles west of Fostoria.

Casket Bearers; Henry O'Farrell, Henry Bensene, Hi Miller, Ed Kolb, Jens Kuper and Isaac Heikens.

Riner S. Meyer, son of Siebe and Antje Meyer, was born December 9, 1863, in Germany. At the age of four he came to this country with his parents. On March 12, 1885, he was united in marriage to Antje Heikens at Wellsburg, Iowa. He farmed four years in Grundy County, Iowa and 49 years in Waterford Township, Clay County, Iowa. In the spring of 1938 he moved to Fostoria, where he spent the remainder of his life. At the time of his death he was 81 years, nine months and 21 days of age.

To this union nine children were born, one son passing away in infancy. His wife preceded him in death 29 years ago, Surviving are four sons, Julius, Seibe, Riner and Ebbo, of Everly and four daughters, Mrs Annie Neilsen, Mrs. Anka Bean and Mrs. Engel Nelsen of Everly and Mrs. Lillie Krambeck of Spencer. He also leaves fourteen grandchildren.

Relatives attending from a distance were; Mr. and Mrs. Grates Wilts, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Heikens, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Nederhoff, John and Ebbo Heikens, Mrs, Anka Noordman, Mrs. David Meyer, Weibe Meyer, Mrs. Anna Getting, Mr. and Mrs. Lubert Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Siebe Meyer, all of the Wellsburg vivinity.
