Services were held on Wednesday, May 31, 1995, at Grace United Methodist Church, Spencer, for Verle D. Lair, age 64, of Spencer. Rev. Gordon Watson officiated.

Pallbearers; Mike Bovee, Dr. John McCarthy, Gary Tolzmann, Don McQueen, Tom Manley and Dave Nelson

Verle D. Lair, the son of Lester and Dorothy (Forsythe) Lair, was born June 11, 1930, in Spencer. His childhood years were spent in Spencer where he received his education, graduating from Spencer High School.

Verle married Ella Hoffman on February 17, 1952, in Lake Park. Following their marriage, he continued to live in Spencer where he was founder and CEO of Verco Seal Company, home of the world's finest hydraulic seals and component parts. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Evening Shade Lodge #312 A.F. and A.M. Chapter of the Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Lair passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital on Saturday, May 29, 1995, at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Ella, of Spencer; two sons; John Lair of Spencer and Paul Lair of Okoboji; two daughters; Alexis Lair of Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Debbie Scheer of Spencer; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and friends.

Interment was in First Reformed Church Cemetery, Rural Everly.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
