Last Rites For George B. Kaiser Today; Dies Tuesday

Funeral services for George B. Kaiser, 60, are being held this afternoon from the home at 1 p.m. and from the First Reformed Church, Everly, at 2 p.m.. The Rev. Russell Horton of the Everly Church will officiate and interment will be made in the family lot in the church cemetery.

Casket Bearers; Eite M. Roskens, S.I. Russell, B.F Dannatt, George Gottsche, Ben Grimmus and Herbert Janssen.

Mr. Kaiser died at his home in Milford Tuesday morning about 11 o'clock. He had been in poor health the past few years, suffering from a heart ailment, and his condition had been more severe since September, A recent attack of influenza was an added strain from which his weakened heart was unable to recover.

George Bernhardt Kaiser, the son of Micheal and Sophia (Luhman)Kaiser, was born May 13, 1891, in Sac County, Iowa, he was an only son, and had five sisters.

He grew to young manhood in the Storm Lake and Schaller vicinities; was graduated from the Storm Lake Schools and was a student at Buena Vista College, Storm Lake, where he took a cours in business and accounting.

On June 23, 1915, Mr. Kaiser took Miss Anna Stille as his bride and they established their first home on a farm near Storm Lake, where they continued to live until 1928, when they purchased the home farm in Dickinson county, six miles southwest of Milford.

During the past summer, Mr. and Mrs. Kaiser have constructed a new, modern home in Milford, in which they have been settled but a few short weeks.

During the years the Kaisers lived in Buena Vista County, Mr. Kaiser served on the Storm Lake School Board for several years. After moving here, he became a director of the Okoboji Consolidated School and served for a period of six years. He has been an active and aggressive farmer, always working for important in farm conditions, active in the Farm Bureau and many years a director of the National Farm Loan Association. He was one of the first farmers in the area to become interested in hybrid corn, and for many years has been a DeKalb dealer.

Mr. Kaiser has been a life-long member of the Reformed Church, and since moving here has held his membership in the First Reformed Church, Everly.

Survivors, besides Mrs. Kaiser, are five children, two sons, Ray and Richard, both of Milford and three daughters, Aline, Mrs. Eite D. Roskens, of Everly, Audrey of New York City and Alice at home. A daughter, Gladys, died in infancy. Four grandchildren also survive; Donna Lee and Gaylen Roskens and Gregory and Susan Vance Kaiser. Three of Mr. Kaiser's sisters are living; they are Mrs, Sara Kyle of Des Moines, Mrs. Anna Offerie and Mrs. Bertha Zinn, both of Storm Lake.

Mrs. Kyle is here for the services, as is the daughter, Audrey, who flew from New York. Many other relatives from the Storm Lake and Schaller vicinities likewise attended.
