Marie (Pulscher) Janssen
April 22, 1906-January 2, 1982

Funeral services for Marie Janssen, 75, of rural Fostoria, were held Tuesday, January 5, 1982, at the First Reformed Church in Everly. The Revs. Steven Bakker and LeRoy Nattress officiated with burial in the First Reformed Cemetery in Everly.

Pallbearers: Harold Roskens, Raymond VandeBroek, Elmer Michelson, Orville Bleeker, John Schmidt and Howard VanDaalen.

Marie was born to Henry and Meta (Dierks) Pulscher Janssen on April 22,1906 in Rockford, Illinois. Her family moved to Flandreau, South Dakota in 1907, and she received her early education there. She later attended business college in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Following her education she moved to Fostoria, where she was the bank's bookkeeper before becoming head bookkeeper at the Clay County National Bank in Spencer. She married Herbert Janssen on August 15, 1936 in Milford and was a member of the First Reformed Church in Everly.

Janssen died Saturday January 2, 1982 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital. Her parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Herbert of Fostoria; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Jones and Kathryn Pulscher, both of Flandreau, South Dakota; and five brothers, Reiner, William, Arthur, Sheridan and George Pulscher all of Flandreau, South Dakota.

The Warner Funeral Home was in charge of the service arrangements.
