Herbert W. Janssen, 79, of Fostoria, died Thursday at his home.

The son of Dick and Jennie (Beving) Janssen was born October 27, 1905, in Ackley. His childhood years were spent in the Milford area and it was there he received his early education and graduated from high school.

He married Marie Pulscher, August 15, 1936, in Milford. Throughout their marriage, the Fostoria community was their home and where they farmed for many years.

Mr. Janssen was a member of the First Reformed Church of Everly and had served as both deacon and elder, along with being active in many other areas of the church.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau and active in the affairs of his community.

Survivors include his twin sister, Agnes Heikens of rural Spencer.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday at First Reformed Church in Everly. The Rev. Steven Bakker will officiate. Burial will be in First Reformed Cemetery, Everly.

Casket Bearers; Harold Roskens, Orville Bleeker, Ray VanderBroek, Elmer Michelson, Marvin Jans and Roger Swenson.

The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
