Frederick (Fritz) Nichlas Fries
November 27, 1917- January 21, 2002

Frederick (Fritz) Fries, 84, of Spencer, died Monday, January 21, 2002, at his home. Graveside services at First Reformed Church Cemetery, rural Everly, are planned for today, January 26, 2 p.m. with Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

Frederick (Fritz) Nicklas Fries, the son of Thomas and Anna (Stueben) Fries, was born on November 27, 1917, in Spencer. He received his early education at a country school in Everly.

Mr. Fries entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II until the time of his honorable discharge on January 1, 1946.

Following his military service, he moved to Royal, where he worked for Huberg Trucking. He moved to Spencer in July 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and six sisters.

Mr. Fries is survived by two daughters; Loretta Pelfrey of Columbus, Ohio and Yvette Dunbar of Grand Rapids, Michigan; four grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
