Margaret Marie (Dixon) Eeten
December 20, 1920-July 28, 2007

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Marie Eeten, 86, of Spencer, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 1, 2007, at Warner Chapel of Spencer. Rev. Paul Hansen will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at First Reformed Cemetery of Everly.

On July 28, 2007, Margaret passed away at Northshire Residence in Spencer.

Casket Bearers; Troy Perry, Ken Thompson, Tyler Thompson, Mike Eeten, Bob Gould Sr. and Howard VanDaalen.

Margaret, the daughter of Lee and Nettie (Syndergaard)Dixon, was born December 20, 1920, in rural Royal. Her childhood years were spent in rural Clay County where she attended country school in Clay and Dickinson County. She then attended high school in Hartley.

On November 24, 1939, Margaret married John Eeten at his parent's farm in Fostoria. Following their marriage, they farmed together in rural Clay County until purchasing the North Star Gas Station in Fostoria in 1963. For seven years John and Margaret owned and operated it together. From 1970 to 1984, Margaret worked at the Spencer Hospital in the dietary and housekeeping departments. In the fallof 1993, they moved to Spencer. Margaret was a member of the United Methodist Church of Fostoria where she served on church circles and she was in the Fostoria Birthday Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robert; her brother, Ray Dixon; graddaughter, Alison (Perry) Thompson; and grandson, Todd Eeten Perry.

Margaret is survived by her husband, John Eeten of Spencer; one daughter, Betty Perry and her husband, Mike of Ankeny; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren and her sister, Lois Dean of Mesa, Arizona.

Warner Funeral Service of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
