August 28, 1883-April 1982

Funeral services for Grace Dirksen, 98, of Everly, were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the First Reformed Church of Fostoria. The Revs. Steven Bakker and LeRoy Nattress officiated with burial in the First Reformed Church Cemetery.

Casket Bearers: Ruby Schoorman, John Schoorman, Percy Zylstra, Ray Dirksen, Ben Dirksen and Art Kruse.

The daughter of Kobus and Katie (Davids) Brinkman, Dirksen was born August 28, 1883 in Butler County, Iowa. She received her education in that area and married Reiner Dirksen on November 12, 1923 in Sibley.

Following their marriage, they moved to the Everly area. She moved to Spencer in 1974, where she was resident of Longhouse. Dirksen was a member of the First Reformed Church near Fostoria.

She died Friday at the Longhouse Residence in Spencer. Her husband, parents, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Survivors include three stepsons, John Dirksen, George Dirksen and Edward Dirksen all of Spencer; one stepdaughter, Louise Hagemeyer of Clara City, Minnesota; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother John Brinkman of Worthington, Minnesota; and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Burma and Mrs. Malvina Dirks both of Sibley.

The Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of the service arrangements.
