MRS. WETHERBEE TAKEN BY DEATH MONDAY MORNING

Funeral Services Are Held Thursday At Church of Christ

Mrs. Nettie Wetherbee, 79, resident of Clay county for more than half a century, died Monday morning, March 18, at about 7:30 o'clock at the Spencr hospital where she was taken the evening previous, for medical attention.

Although in failing health for several years, Mrs. Wetherbee was not taken seriously ill until Sunday. Wednesday of last week not feeling well, Mrs. Wetherbee remained in bed but her condition gradually grew weaker and she was forced to remain bedfast until her death which was caused from a weakened heart tributary to old age.

Funeral Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. Wetherbee were held Thursday afternoon, March 21, at 2 o'clock from the Jones Funeral home, West Second street and 2:30 o'clock from the Church of Christ.

Services were conducted by Rev. Bairer of Spencer, South Dakota, a former pastor of the local Christian church, assisted by Rev. Forrest Richeson and special music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Axe who sang a duet, "Going Down the Valley" and John Gifford who offered the selection "The Old Rugged Cross." Mrs. Howard Rice was pianist.

Burial was made in the family lot in Riverside cemetery and pall bearers were members of the Sons of Veterans.
