April 9, 1920-August 28, 2006Funeral services were held September 1 at Hope Reformed Church in Spencer for Ella Anna Bleeker, 86, who passed away August 28.
Rev. Stan Vandersall officiated. Interment was at First Reformed Cemetery at Fostoria.
Ella Anna Bleeker, the daughter of Albert and Emma Schomburg, was born in rural Clay County on April 9, 1920. She graduated from Greenville Consolidated School in 1937 while living on the family farm and continued to work on the farm until the summer of 1944.
Ella was united in marriage to Orville Bleeker on September 6, 1948 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was employed at Montgomery Ward in Spencer until she and Orville moved to a farm west of Milford in 1953. It was there that Ella and Orville lived and farmed until Decemebr of 1986, then moved to Hartley to enjoy their retirement.
Ella was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Everly until the closing of the Church. She was currently a member of the Hope Reformed Church of Spencer and also attended the Central Baptist Church of Hartley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville in 2003; her daughter Kay TenKley in 2005; two brothers, William and Robert Schomburg, and one sister, Lucille Sixta.
Ella is survived by two sons and their wives; Paul and Marcia of San Ramon, California, and Duane and Debra of Hartley; one daughter and her husband Jean and Phil Blok of Spencer; 14 granchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
