March 26, 1909-April 13, 1994Francis Doran, 85, Everly, died Wednesday, April 13 at home.
Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church, Everly, with the Rev's Anthony Pick and William Wingert officicating.
Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, with Warner Funeral Home of Spencer in charge of arrangements.
Casket Bearers; Robert Foran, Allan Doran, Ann McClain, Jeffrey Foran, Linda Keefer, Mark Ruml and Steve Doran.
Francis Sylvester Doran, son of Frank and Elizabeth (Regynisky) Doran, was born March 26, 1909 in Woonsocket, South Dakota. It was there he received his early education.
On January 21, 1930, he married Matilda Koch in Stickney, South Dakota. They moved to Iowa in 1937, making their home in Hartley for two years before moving to Ocheyedan. The couple returned to Everly in 1968 where they had made their home since.
Mr. Doran farmed throughout his life, retiring in 1970, but continued to help his son farm until 1993.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly.
Mr. Doran is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Bernard; and one sister, Mildred.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ronald Doran and his wife, Lois, of Everly; and Duane Doran and his wife, Betty, of Everly; one daughter, Marjorie Ruml and her husband, William, of Lake Park; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters Margaret Zoss of Stola, South Dakota, and Myrtle Cleek of Pukwana, South Dakota and two brothers, Charles Doran of Seattle, Washington, and Lester Doran of Rapid City, South Dakota.
