November 19, 1902-July 2, 2004

Matilda "Tillie" Doran, 101, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2004 at Northshire Residence in Spencer.

Services are scheduled for today July 6, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Father Roger Linnan will officiate with interment to follow at Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly. All arrangements are being handled by Warner Funeral Home of Spencer.

Matilda, the daughter of Nicholas and Anna (Ruden) Koch, was born on November 19, 1902 in Farmer, South Dakota. Before Tillie started school, the family moved to Stickney, South Dakota, where she attended country school and later Pleasant Lake Consolidated School in Plankington, South Dakota.

Tillie married Francis Doran on January 21, 1938, and the family moved to Hartley where they lived for two years until moving to Ocheyedan. In 1968, they moved to Everly, following her husband's death in 1994, she continued to live in Everly moving to Spencer where she was a resident of Northshire Residence.

Tillie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four brothers; Nick, Pete, Jacob and John Koch; three sisters; Elizabeth, Mary and Kathryn; and twin brother and sister in infancy.

She is survived by two sons and their wives; Ronald and Lois Doran, of Spencer, and Duane and Betty Doran of Everly; one daughter Marjorie and her husband William Ruml of Lake Park; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granchild; two sisters; Margaret Turnis of Platte, South Dakota, and Agnes Houtkwoper of Mitchell, South Dakota.
