Donald Eugene DeMars
March 19, 1957-November 8, 1991Donald Eugene DeMars, 34, of Aurora, Colorado, and formerly of Spencer, died Friday, November 8, 1991 in Aurora, Colorado.
Graveside services for him are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 1991 at Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly. The Rev. David Biddle will officiate.
Mr. DeMars, the son of Kenneth DeMars and Susie Applegate was born March 19, 1957, in Rantoul, Illinois, at Chanute Air Force Base. He moved from Glenwood to Colorado in 1981, and worked construction before attending and graduating from the Colorado Police Academy.
In 1984 he received a plaque from the ACC Police Academy for outstanding firearms qualification. As a deputy sheriff, he worked on many cases and was known as one of the best vehicle traffic officers.
Mr. DeMars was preceded in death by his three grandparents.
He is survived by his mother of Emmetsburg; his father of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two brothers Robert DeMars of Colorado and Earl "Pat" Tuttle of Lake Mills; a sister, Vonda Flack-Steece of Spencer; his grandmother, Jessie Knipper of Emmetsburg; and his daughter, Tabatha DeMars of Des Moines.
The Baumgarten Funeral Home of Spencer is handling the arrangements.
