Cora Butler
November 16, 1862-May 1935Mrs. Cora Butler passed away at 2:30 o'clock Sunday morning in the Spencer Hospital. She was 72 years, 5 months and 26 days at the time of her death. The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Federated church with the Rev. Wayne Stauffer officiating. Burial was beside her husband in Everly.
Mrs. Butler was a very quiet woman. Her main interest in life was her home and family. Those who knew her spoke very highly of her and her constant devotion to her home and family made her dear to a large number of people who were not well acquainted with her.
She was born, November 16, 1862, at Ottawa, Illinois, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. McCormick. She came to this section as a young woman and was married on her birthday in 1892 to George Butler in Everly, Iowa. He passed away October 4, 1913, at a comparatively young age.
Mrs. Butler had lived in this section for 57 years, including 30 years in Milford and before she came here she lived in Everly and Hartley. For the last 23 years she has lived in the same house.
Two children were born to union. One daughter, Lulu, passed away in 1904 at the age of 6. The other was Richard Butler of Milford.
She also is survived by four half brothers.
