Louis Brugman of Everly Dies Tuesday

Louis Brugman, a resident of Clay County for the past 39 years, died at the Hand Hospital in Hartley, Tuesday evening, November 8, his death following and operation for the removal of a tumor.

The deceased was the son of the later Mr. and Mrs. Louis Brugman, Sr., of Everly and was born December 1, 1877, near Walcott, Scott County, Iowa. At the age of 16, he came with his parents, brother and sisters to Clay County and settled on a farm, four miles southeast of Everly.

The farm remained their home until 1928, when the brothers and sisters moved to Everly.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1912 and by his father in 1916. He is survived by his brother, Henry, three sisters, Mrs. Ida Moeller and Bertha and Minnie Brugman, all of Everly, and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran Church, Rev. A.H. Geske, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Interment was made in Lone Tree Cemetery.

Mr. Brugman was bapitized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and was a member of the Everly Lutheran Church. He was also a a member of the board of directors of the Everly Telephone System for 15 years. The deceased was a kind and loving brother and a faithful and congenial friend.

Pallbearers; A.J. Wehler, D.P Petersen, George Sprangler, R.J. Schoelerman, Hans Petersen and William Ketelsen.
