Mrs. Harrison L. Bone, a resident of Royal for the past thirty years, died Friday, August 15, 1930, at the State Hospital, Cherokee, Iowa, following and illness of five years duration. At the time of death she was 64 years, 4 months and 20 days old.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 17, at two o'clock, at the Methodist Church, with the Rev. Peterson of Dickens officiating. Burial was made in Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly.
Harriett Eva Bone was born April 25, 1866, at Hume, Vermillion County, Illinois, where she grew to womanhood. She was married to Harrison L. Bone on December 4, 1884, and they lived near Hume for two years, during which time their only child, Chester, was born. Their next home was at Homer, Illinois, where they resided several years. In 1896 they removed to Iowa. Since 1903 they have been residents of Royal.
Mrs. Bone was a member of the Methodist Church for years and was always ready to help when needed. She was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge of Royal and a member of Eastern Star Lodge. She leaves to mourn their loss her husband and son and three grandchildren, Melvin, Harrison and Verla Joyce Bone and a host of loving friends and kind neighbors.
