Lula (Southwell) Baumeister
August 17, 1880-July 5, 1960Mrs. Lula Baumeister was born at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, August 17, 1880 and died at her home at Everly, July 5, 1960, at the age of 70. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Southwell of Elkader.
Her marriage to William H. Baumeister took place July 15, 1897 at Elkader. To this union two sons were born. They are William C. Baumeister and Harry M. Baumeister of Everly, who survive as do brother, Floyd Southwell of San Bernardino, California; two daughters-in-law; and two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death.
Mrs. Baumeister had been a resident of the Everly community for 62 years, moving there from Clayton county. She was baptized in United Brethren Church.
Funeral services were held at Warner's Chapel July 8 at 1:30p.m. The Rev. Daniel Cronrath of Hope Lutheran Church at Everly conducted the funeral and burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Peter Schmidt, John Schmidt, Edwin Lohse, Frank Scharnberg, Henry Frydenborg and Peter Matthiesen.
Interment in Lone Tree cemetery
