Perry Corbin of Royal Dies Last Friday

Royal: Funeral services for Perry Corbin, who died at his home Friday, July 9, 1939, were held Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and continued at 2 o'clock at the English Lutheran Church. Burial was made at Everly.

Oliver Hazard Perry Corbin was born at Sunbury, Illinois, November 28, 1865, and spent the first thirty-four years of his life there. In 1898 he married Miss Catherine Hoberg and to this marriage three children were born. In 1899 Mr. Corbin and his wife moved to Chicago where he was employed as a street car conductor for a number of years.

Mr. Corbin and his family moved to Clay County in 1903 and settled on a farm two west and on mile south of Royal.

Underwent Operation

He had been failing in health the last few years and underwent an operation in Chicago in April, and though not fully recovered, returned to his home on June 5, 1937 and from then on his condition remained the same until a week before his death, Friday, July 9, 1937 at 5:30 o'clock, caused by uremic poisoning.

He leaves to mourn; his wife and three children; Arthur F. Corbin of Royal, Miss Mary Ellen Corbin and Perry Hoberg Corbin of Eagel Rock, California, one brother, John Corbin of Berkeley, California, two sisters, Mrs. Edith Lowers of Pontiac, Illinois and Mrs. Sarah J. Corbin of Eagle Rock, California.

The pallbearers; Herman Koep, Horace Fields, Everett Koons, Otto Moeller, Albert Jaeger and Willie Lacey. Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral were; Miss Augusta Hoberg and Herman Hoberg of Streator, Illinois, Will Hoberg of Odell, Illinois, Julius Hoberg of Nebraska City, Nebraska and Sidney Hoberg of Mountain Lake, Minnesota.

Mary Ellen and Perry Corbin of Eagle Rock had been home for the last week
