Catherine (Hoberg) Corbin
August 28, 1868-January 25, 1939

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 28 at the home at 1:30 o'clock and at the English Lutheran Church in Royal at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Oliver H. Perry Corbin. Rev. V.J. Kollmann conducting the services.

Mrs. Catherine Corbin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Hoberg, was born August 28, 1868 at Peru, Illinois. In infancy she was baptized and later in her childhood she was confirmed and became a communicant member of the Lutheran church.

On November 2, 1898, she was married to Oliver H. Perry Corbin at Sunbury, Illinois, where Mr. Corbin was employed. In 1903, they came to Iowa and settled on a farm, two miles west and a mile south of Royal. To this union three children were born, two sons and a daughter.

Mrs. Corbin was a faithful member of our church for many years, and was active member of the ladies aid society, until a few years ago, when failing health made it impossible for her to take as active a part as formerly.

Mrs. Corbin died on Wednesday, January 25, 1939, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and three days. On January 18, 1939, she suffered a stroke, which was the direct cause of her death.

Mrs. Corbin leaves her three children, Arthur Corbin, Miss Mary Corbin and Perry Corbin; three brothers Arthur Hoberg, Blackstone, Illinios, William Hoberg, Odell, Illinois and Herman Hoberg, Streaton, Illinois and a number of other relatives.

The body of Mrs. Corbin was buried beside her husband in Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly.
