Peggy Dean Cooper, 78, died Saturday, August 27, 1994, at her daughter's home in Greeley.

The funeral services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Everly, with the Rev. Shumaine McAlphine officiating.

Casket Bearers; Bob Baxter, Randy Cooper, Butch Johnson, Jeff Cooper, Tom Cooper and Greg Schoenewe.

Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, under the direction of Warner Funeral Home, Spencer.

Peggy Dean Cooper, the daughter of Ottie E. and Ethel R. (Miller) Moore, was born November 11, 1925, in Angelville, Missouri. She was raised in Pittsburg, Kansas.

She married Roger Lynn Cooper on January 29, 1946, in Pittsburg. During their married life they lived in Everly from 1948-1952 and then moved to Wichita, Kansas from 1952-1960 and then back to Everly in 1960.

She was city clerk in Everly from 1968-1972. She also owned and operated a ceramic shop and second-hand store in Everly. She was a member of the Christian Church in Wichita, a member of the Spencer and Greeley VFW, the Bicentennial Secretary for Everly, President of the Iowa Genealogy Society in 1977 and was coordinator for the Everly Area on Aging and RTA busing.

She moved to Greeley in 1983 where she was secretary of Hospice and Patient Advocacy Team. At the time of her death she was property manager of the Greeley Center for Independence. She also formed the "Small Town Crisis" Everly Kitchen Band which is still active today. She was also an avid artist and craft person. In November 1990 she designed and copyrighted her "Colorado Slims" handmade custom clay figurines.

She is survived by her son, Danny Cooper, Abilene, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Michael Upchurch, Greeley; one sister, Velma Oertle, Pittsburg, Kansas; five granddaughters; one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brothers.
