Funeral services for Mr. Shannon Boyle, 60, of Spencer, formerly of Everly, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2008, at Hope Lutheran Church of Everly. Rev. Lauren Ley will officiate the service.

Interment will take place at Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly.

Shannon passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008, at Spencer Hospital.

Delbert Shannon Boyles was born June 7, 1847, to Delbert Lloyd Boyles and Muriel Lorraine (Roberts) Boyles. He attended school in Everly, graduating from high school in 1965.

On June 18, 1966, Shannon married Nancy Cooper and on December 16, 1972, his daughter Jodi Lynn, was born.

Shannon was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly, confirmed March 26, 1961, by Rev. Daniel Cronrath. When he was younger, he always wanted to be a cowboy and that is why most of his jobs involved horses and cattle. Throughout his life he worked at various jobs in Iowa and Colorado. After moving to Everly, he worked in the lumberyard for Shopper's Supply, until he was forced to retire due to his failing health.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Shannon is survived by his parents, Dub and Myrt Boyles of Everly; brother Allen of Everly; daughter, Jodi Anderson Greeley, Colorado and other extended family in the area.

Warner Funeral Home of Everly in charge of arrangements.
