Jacob Burger is Dead
Funeral services for the late Jacob Burger who passed away at his home in Everly on Friday, November 4, at 3:30 o'clock a.m. were held from the M.E. church of that place Wednesday afternoon. Burial was made in the Lone Tree cemetery.
Jacob Burger was born Jan. 7, 1847. His childhood was spent in York county, Penn., and on Feb. 4, 1866 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Ellen Miller. To this union six children were born, John of Arnolds Park, Joseph M. and Mary M. of Harrold, S.D., Lydia Jane of Fulton, Mo., Clinton M. and Robert of Union, Mont.
In 1882 Mr. Burger and family moved to Clay county, buying a farm four miles west of Royal where he resided until seven years ago when he moved to the village of Everly.
His wife died on Feb. 22, 1895 and in 1889 he married Mrs. Anna Damman. To this union were born three children, Lloyd Lester, Leroy and Kenneth Henry, who with their mother survive.
He was a veteran of the Civil war and an honest upright christian man, respected by all who knew him.
