Osa Ellen (Carr) Baumeister
July 24, 1897-October, 1982Funeral services for Osa Ellen Baumeister, 85, Everly, will be Tuesday at 11 am at the United Methodist Church, Everly. The Rev. Allen Wiese will officiate and burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly.
Casket Bearers: Russell Randall,David Baumeister, Dennis Ballhorn, Roger Veum and Virgil Fliss.
Osa Baumeister was born July 24, 1897 in Madrid, Iowa, the daughter of David Valentine and Florence (Roe) Carr. She grew up in Madrid and following graduation from high school, attended Grandview College, Des Moines. She then taught school.
Following her marriage to William Christian Baumeister on December 31, 1919 in Spencer, they farmed in the Everly area before moving into town in 1955. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and once belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Lone Tree Chapter, Everly.
She died Saturday at the Hartley Community Hospital. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, one sister, one brother and two half brothers.
Survivors include one son, Don, Everly; one daughter, LaVonne Ballhorn, Sheridan, Wyoming; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Mrs. Winnie Mincer, Carson and Marvel Weisbrod, St. Paul, Minnesota.
The Warner Funeral Homes is in charge of the service arrangements.
