Vera Naomi "Kurlee" Austin
August 18, 1910-October 30, 2001

A funeral service for Vera "Kurlee" Austin, 91, of Spencer, will be held Friday, November 2, 2001, 10:30 am at Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. The Rev. Craig Finnestad will lead the service.

Mrs. Austin died Tuesday, October 30, 2001, at her home.

Pallbearers will Tim Edmondson, Bruce Townsend, Andrew Jones, Bob Steinkamp. Dr. Darrell Forslund and Kyle Norris.

Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly.

Vera Naomi "Kurlee" Austin, the daughter of Joseph and Tillie Eliza (Johnson) Aalborg, was born August 18, 1910, in Estherville. She graduated from Estherville High School. On January 30, 1934, she married Loris "Sandy" Austin in Des Moines, after which they lived in Spencer.

She was a bookeeper for Merrill Company in Spencer for several years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and was a member of the church circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.

Mrs. Austin is survived by three children; Taman and Darrell Kruckman of Ruthven, Noel Austin of West Liberty, and Doug and Pat Jones of Spencer; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Virginia Aalborg; other relatives and friends
