May 5, 1910-September 8, 1984

Funeral Service for Loris Merle "Sandy" Austin. 74, of Spencer were held Tuesday, September 11, 1984, at 1:30 pm in the Warner Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Brown officiating. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly.

Pallbearers were Dean Seibel, Don Heiter, Sr., Clayton Drenth, Tim Edmondson, Glen Alger and Ed Wolford.

Loris Merle Austin was born to Verne and Lydia (Klett) Austin on May 5, 1910, in Kadoka, South Dakota. His family moved to the Spencer area and he went to country schools before graduating from the Spencer High School.

Austin married Vera Aalborg on January 30, 1934, in Des Moines. They continued to live in Spencer. He served with the US Navy during World War II and was a member of the Eagles Lodge. He was self-employed painter for many years.

On Saturday, September 8, 1984, Austin passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Survivors include his wife; one sone, Noel of West Liberty; one daughter, Tammon Kruckman of Ruthven; two granddaughters; one brother, Leo of Arnolds Park; and one sister, Ila Wintz of Milford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother

Interment in Lone Tree cemetery
