Funeral for Mrs. Bertha Baker, 92, of Fremont, California, formerly of Everly, was held Tuesday from Warner Chapel in Spencer.

Pastor Micheal A. Last officiated. Burial was at Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly.

Bearers were Russell Brugman, Norwood Souders, Harold Heins, Roger Haberman, Emil (Bud) Brugman and Donald Nielsen.

Mrs. Baker died March 2 at Fremont, California.

She was born March 29, 1883, to Carl and Sophia Brugman at Davenport. She was married to Ira R. Baker in 1915.

Mrs. Baker moved with her parents to Everly at the age of three. As a young woman, she taught school in Everly. She was member of the Lone Tree Chapter of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Bake moved to California in 1966 after making her home in Everly and Spencer for many years, she was resident of Mission Convalescent Home at Fremont.

Surviving are two sons, Lee Baker of Menlo Park, California, and Orlyn Baker of San Diego, California, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, six brothers and two sisters.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
