Alan David Beving
September 19, 1938-February 15, 1972Alan David Beving was born September 19, 1938 in Clay County, Iowa to John and Harmke (Meyers) Beving. He attended school at Okoboji and graduated in 1956.
On July 31,1959 he was united in marriage to Josephine Alice Simonsen in Dickinson County, Iowa.To this union were born two children; Sheila Jo and Brad David. Following their marriage they farmed east of Fostoria except for one year that David was a fieldman for Farmers Cooperative at Albert City, Iowa.
On February 15, 1972, David passed away at his farm home as the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 33 years, 4 months and 26 days. He was preceded in death by one brother Gerald.
Survivors include his wife Josephine; two children, Sheila Jo and Brad David; a foster daughter, Becky Bowman; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Beving of Everly; two brothers; Merlin of Spencer; John of Everly; three sisters; Mrs. Ed (Lenora) Bernier of Winslow, Arizona; Mrs. Leonard (Janell) Clausen of Lake Park; and Mrs Harold (Annetta) Laubach of Hartley.
David also had three other foster children, other relatives and a host of friends.
Services were held Saturday, February 19, 1972 at the Union Memorial Church in Milford at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Robert Ruleman officiating. Mrs Frank Fellows was organist. Marlo Feldman sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art"
Pallbearers were Marvin Jans, Dale Schoning, Roger Heikens, Duane Milton, Chester Brody. and Dennis Raveling. Interment was in the First Reformed Church Cemetery at Fostoria under the direction of Warner Funeral Home
