--------------------------------

Job Scott Greene was born near Indianapolis, Indiana, April 12, 1863. His boyhood days were spent in Indiana. He came to Clay county, Iowa, with the family in 1885. During the past 15 years he has lived at Spirit Lake. He was married June 2, 1898, to Minnie Pickering who died at Whittier, California, Oct. 2, 1913. To this union was born six children, Lawton, Joyce, Bernard, Lyall, Phylis and Geneva, all of whom survive the parents. Besides the children he has a mother, three brothers and three sisters left to mourn the loss. He had a birthright membership in the Friends church and openly confessed Christ in early manhood. His life has been one of usefulness and self sacrifice for others. Nothing was too hard for him to do if it was to help some one else in need. A man of a few words, but of many good deeds was often said of him. The funeral services were held at the Friends church and interment made at Liberty cemetery.
