Asa Greene is lying very low at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Sprague.

Asa B. Ford is lying dangerously ill of Bright's disease, at the home of his son-in-law, F. W. Sprague, in this city.

Asa Greene died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Sprague, Monday at 11:30 A. M. The funeral occurred at Greenville Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Asa B. Greene, eldest son of David and Mary Greene, was born in Highland Co., Ohio, Jan. 8th 1828. He was married to Susanna Greene April 24th, 1850. He with his family moved to Indiana in 1858, and from there to Clay County, Iowa, in 1885, where he has since resided. He died at the home of his daughter. Mrs. F.W. Sprague, in this city, June 5th, 1899, at 11:30 o'clock a. m. He leaves a wife, four sons, and three daughters to mourn his loss. The children are J. R. Greene, D. W. Greene, Mrs. E. E. Strawn, of Greenville, Mrs. A. O. W. Newton, Mrs. F. W. Sprague, E. R. Greene of this city, and J. S. Greene of Spirit Lake. He was a member of the Friends' church and through a lingering sickness of three years has shown a cheerful and Christian spirit. He left evidence that he was going to meet his Savior,and was glad to leave this world where he had suffered so much.
