John Nathaniel Freeburg
December 9, 1870-March 3, 1930

John Nathaniel Freeburg passed away at the Spencer Hospital, Monday evening, March 2, after an extended illness of several years. At the time of his death, which occurred at 5:15 o'clock, he was 59 years, 2 months and 21 days of age

Born in Westergotland, Sweden, December 9, 1870, he immigrated to the United States at the age of ten years with his father and mother, two sisters and one brother, who located in Spencer in 1880

At the age of sixteen he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith to which he remained true to the time of his death. He was a member of the Swedish Lutheran Church of Spencer.

Mr. Freeburg spent most of his life following agricultural pursuits in Clay County with the exceptions of eight years spent in Moline, Illinois. He was industrious, honest and upright. He never married.

He leaves to mourn their loss, his aged mother, four brothers, Carl Freeburg of Rossie. Martin Freeburg of Walnut Grove, Minnesota, also six sisters, Selma, Mrs. Andrew Olson of Spencer, Clara, Mrs. Gust Carlson, who lives south of Spencer, Mrs Emma Gustafson of Spencer, Hannah, Mrs. Art Jensen of Los Angeles, California, Miss Elizabeth Freeburg at home and Beda, Mrs A.H. Sonius of Greenville.

Funeral Services will be hold Thursday, March 6, at the Freeburg home, 891 North Grove Street, at 1:30 o'clock and at the Swedish Lutheran Church in Spencer at two o'clock. Rev. G.L. Dagner of the Lutheran church and Rev. A. H. Sonius of the Greenville Congregational Church will officiate. Following the rites the body will be taken to the Lincoln Lutheran Cemetery for burial. The pallbearers will be his four brothers and two brothers-in-law. Carl, Martin, Albert and Harry Freeburg and Andrew Olson.

Albert and Harry Freeburg are expected to arrive today from Walnut Grove, Minnesota, to attend the funeral.
