Mrs. Fritz Heuer, 69, died Friday, April 14, 1933, at midnight at her home here following a stroke the previous Saturday which left her unconscious until the time of her death.
Margareta Minnie Peters, who was born at Westerderkstrig, Schleswig-Holstein, June 8, 1863, came to this country July 20, 1882, and was united in marriage nine days later to Fritz Heuer. Last July they observed their golden wedding anniversary.
Their marriage took place at Dysart, Tama county, Ia. Four years later the couple came to Clay county and settled on a farm seven miles northwest of Everly where they resided until 1911 when they moved to Everly to make their home.
In early childhood, Mrs. Heuer was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Six sons and one daughter were born to this union, who with their father survive to mourn the passing of Mrs. Heuer. They are Peter, Fritz, Mrs. Meinart Kruse, John, Herman, all of Parshall, N.D., and Claus and Julius of Everly. Other relatives surviving are eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three brothers, John Peters of Everly, William Peters of South Dakota and Herman Peters of Minnesota; and a sister, Mrs. William Heuer of Lake Park, besides numerous other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at the home at two o'clock Tuesday, April 18, Rev. Benjamin J. Trickey, pastor of the First Congregational church, Spencer, having charge of the rites.
Acting as casket bearers were her five sons, Peter, Fritz, Herman, Claus and Julius, and a nephew, William Heuer. Interment was in Lone Tree cemetery.
