Our community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Mont Walker, which occurred on Tuesday morning of last week. Mrs. Walker had been bedfast for some months, suffering from dropsy and heart trouble. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Fremont Walker, two daughters, Lois Irene, age 10 and Iris Ellen, age 4, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clabaugh of this city, a brother, Glen Clabaugh of Yankton, South Dakota; one step-son, Allan Walker, of Marathon and a host of friends. Mrs. Walker was an active worker in the community. She was a lovely mother and homemaker. Funeral rites were held in the Friends church last Thursday afternoon. Rev. Frank Carpenter, pastor of the church officiated. Pall bearers were six members of the Friendly class, of which Mrs. Walker was a member, namely Wilson McDaniel, Neal McMullen, Virgil Gritten, Kenneth Scott, Vete Adams and Norman Fletcher. Interment was made in the Liberty cemetery, south of Greenville. To the bereaved husband, the small daughters, the brother and aged parents, the community extends much sympathy and heartfelt wishes.
