A funeral service for William Arthur, 71, of Greenville, will be held today, August 3, 2002, at 10 a.m. at the Warner Funeral Home Chapel in Spencer, The Rev Tonna Parsons will be officiate. Mr Arthur died at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City on Wednesday, July 31, 2002.

Casket bearers will be Kris Arthur, Kent Zalaznik, Jim Umscheid, Cole Arthur, Tim Lawson and Tony Umscheid. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Greenville.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements.

William Henry Arthur, the son of Homer and Lucille (Taylor) Arthur, was born November 2, 1930, in Terril. He graduated from Terril High School.

On Decemeber 3, 1950, he married Joanne Schaper in Estherville. Following their marriage, he worked as a mechanic at Norman Motors in Spirit Lake and managed the meat marker at Red Owl Foods in Spirit Lake. He later owned and operated the Greenville Locker until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother

Mr Arthur is survived by his wife; one son and his wife; Robert and Debbie Arthur of Mason City; four daughters and their husbands; Linda and George Carroll of St. Paul, Minn., LeAnn Arthur of Spencer, Lori Bonine and Kenny Stewart of Greenville, and Lisa and Danny Knutson of Greenville; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends
