Myrtle Lykins Barglof, 1908-1985

Funeral services for Myrtle Marie Barglof, 76, Spencer, will be 1:30 pm. Saturday in the Warner Chapel. The Rev. Roy Satre will officiate, and burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery in Greenville.

Mrs Barglof died Thursday at the Buena Vista County Hospital in Storm Lake.

Casket bearers will be Ralph Beck, Howard Thomsen, Dwayne Freeman, Bill Schomburg, Richard Jeffrey and Don Schoer. Wayne Pickering, Glen Mason, Weldon Pickering and Dave Olson will be the honorary bearers.

The daughter of Tom and Lizzy Nickells Lykins, Mrs. Barglof was born October 15, 1908, in Fullerton, Ill. Her family later moved to Greenville.

She married Ernie Emil Barglof on December 12, 1929, in Spencer. They lived in Greenville and Hartley until moving to a farm south of Spencer. Mrs. Barglof made her home there for 43 years and was a past member of the Greenville Friends Church.

Survivors include three sons, Ernest Ray of Omaha, Neb., Jim of rural Spencer, and Art of Sioux Rapids; one daughter, Joyce Schuller of Alta; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ed Lykins of Colusa, Calif. and Tom Lykins of Starbuck, Minn.

Mrs. Barglof was preceded in death by her husband in 1971 and a infant daughter, Ruth Ann.

The Warner Funeral Home was in charge of the service arrangement.
