Peter R. All, 1843-1920

Peter R. All was born on May 25th,1843, near Fort Ann, Washington County, New York. His early life was spent in New York state but at the age of 18 years he moved with his parents to Ironton, Wisconsin.

At the early outbreak of the Civil War Mr. All enlisted in Company E of the 15th Regiment of the Wisconsin Infantry. He served as a private in the United States army until the close of the war at which time he received an honorable discharge and returned to his home in Wisconsin where he lived for a number of years.

On December 24th, 1873, he was united in marriage to Miss Lydia A. Davis of Ironton, Wisconsin. To this union two sons, George W. and Orvin W., who are living and Lizzie E., who died October 1, 1913.

In 1895 the All family moved to Clay County where they have since made there home.

Many years ago Mrs. All was stricken with a fatal but lingering illness which carried her on out into years of suffering but even through the long hours of anguish and pain stood her faithful husband at her side until the end came on October 7th 1916.

Mr. All has suffered for many months with and organic disease and his physician, in the hope of eliminating the pain and adding a few more years to his life, took him to Chicago for treatment at which place, he passed away on September 17th, 1920.

He leaves to mourn his loss his two sons, George and Orvin and their families. Two sisters and one brother, his neighbors and a host of friends. The funeral was held from the Friends Church at Greenville. The Rev. A. J. Lamm officiating and the interment was made in the Liberty.
