Henry N. Scholerman, Farmer, Living Two Miles North of Moneta, Took Life on Sunday, July 13
Henry N. Scholerman, well known Lone Tree township farmer, committed suicide Sunday afternoon in his room in a hotel at Sioux Falls, South Dakota, by hanging himself by his necktie. The reason for the suicide is unknown, other than that Mr. Scholerman had been in poor health for sometime.
Mrs. Scholerman has been in a hospital at Sioux Falls for some time and her husband left here on Thursday of last week to visit her at the hospital. Mr. Scholerman's body was found in his room a short time after dinner Sunday.
Funeral arrangements have not been definitely arranged this morning, arrangements depending on whether Mrs. Scholerman is able to be brought home from the hospital today or tomorrow. The remains have not as yet reached here. It is stated funeral services will be held from the farm home, two miles north of Moneta, in Lone Tree township, possibly today or tomorrow.
Henry Scholerman was married to Miss Molly Sindt of Keystone in February, 1901, at Keystone, Benton county, Iowa, and with his family came to Clay county nine years ago. Besides his wife he leaves three sons, Elmer, Harry and Lester, and two daughters, Sophia and Katherine. He is also survived by five brothers, John of Royal, Will of Hartley, Kermit, George and Herman of Keystone, and one sister, also of Keystone.
