Prominent Everly Wife and Mother Died at Spencer Hospital on July 11

Mrs. Eva Winterboer, wife of Harm H. Winterboer, a prosperous farmer near Everly, died Friday evening, July 11, 1919, at the Spencer hospital, death resulting from heart disease, from which she has been a sufferer for many years.

Mrs. Winterboer was born in Germany, September 29, 1856, her maiden name being Evavena Gastman, her birthplace being Landscraft, Polder, East Friesland. She came to America in 1884 and first located in Grundy county and was married that year to Harm H. Winterboer. Four years later they moved to Clay county and settled on a farm near Everly which place was her home until her death.

To this happy union eight children were born, namely, Mrs. Hilda E. Meyers, Mrs. George Beving, Henry, George, Dick, Conrad, Johannes and Harm.

Mrs. Winterboer was baptised and confirmed in the Reformed church in Germany. She lived a true Christian life and was a faithful attendant at the church services. She was a most devoted wife and mother.

The funeral services were held at the Reformed church on Monday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. DeVries, and burial was made in the First Reformed church cemetery.
