Funeral services for the late Martin Johnson, who passed away at his home in Royal, Iowa, Tuesday morning, June 21, 1921, will be conducted by Rev. N.C. Carlsen, pastor of the Danish Lutheran church of Royal, this Thursday afternoon at the residence at one o'clock and at the church at one-thirty. Interment will be made in Willow Creek cemetery.
Martin Johnson was born in Denmark on February 13, 1844, being at the time of death over seventy-seven years of age. In 1865, he came to this country and for the past fifty years had made his home in Clay county. His death was due to heart failure.
He was married to Mary Henrickson shortly after coming to this country and to this union two children were born, Mrs. Peter Syndergaard and Will Johnson, both of Royal.
Besides his grief stricken wife and children, he leaves three brother to mourn their loss, Chris Johnson, who lives on a farm north of this city, Jim Johnson of Inwood, Iowa, and Hans Johnson of Russell, Minnesota, and a host of friends.
