Philip Hupp passed away at six-thirty o'clock Thursday afternoon, Feb. 22, at his home in Everly, Ia. His illness was of short duration he having been confined to his bed for a period of only three days when he suddenly and silently passed away to his eternal rest. He was a violent lover of the violin, the music of which was used at his funeral services which were conducted Sunday, Feb. 25, at Everly, Iowa. Burial was made in Lone Tree cemetery.

Philip Hupp was born at Caldwell, Noble county, Ohio, on May 6, 1858, being at the time of his death 64 years, 9 months and 16 days of age. He lived in Ohio until he was sixteen years of age when he removed to the state of Indiana. He made his home in that state until 1916 when he moved to Everly, Iowa, where he made his home until his death.

Philip Hupp was married to Miss Nancy Weaver of Indiana in 1881 and to this union fourteen children were born, five of whom have passed on before.

He leaves to mourn his sudden demise, his widow, four brothers, two sisters, four grandchildren and his nine children, Walter Henry, [unreadable] and Irene Hupp of Everly, and Mrs. Goldie Faulkner of Spencer, all of whom were present at the funeral services. A daughter, Mrs. Bessie Lane of Indianapolis, Indiana, was unable to attend the funeral services for her father on account of sickness and a son Harvey Hupp was unable to come. He is stationed at Cuba at the present time with the United States navy, Boat U.S.S. Delaware.
