Margaret Hansen, 89, Spencer, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at the Lake Park Care Center in Lake Park.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, at the First Reformed Church, Everly, with the Rev. David E. Loveall officiating.
Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. today, May 7, with the family present from 5 - 7 p.m. at Warner Funeral Home, Spencer.
Honorary bearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, George Chipman, Suzie Norgaard, Norman Van Enter, Don Nielsen, and Mel Stief. Interment will be in First Reformed Cemetery in Everly.
Margaret Mae Hansen, the daughter of Henry and Lila (Steele) Frahm, was born Sept. 4, 1912 in Edgeley, N.D. She received her education in Onawa and graduated from the Onawa High School.
On Sept. 4, 1940, she married Richard Hansen in Onawa. Following their marriage, the continued to live in Onawa before moving to Estherville, Fostoria, and Everly. In 1987, they moved to Spencer.
While living in Everly, she was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday school for 25 years. She was also active in the Farm Bureau.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Hansen is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mary Beth and her husband Wayne Bishop of Everly; one son, David Hansen of Spirit Lake; five step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Aust of Glendale, Ariz.; other relatives and friends.
