Mrs. Sarah M. Ostrander died at the home of her son, J. A. Ostrander, Lake township, Saturday, August 13th, of infirmities of old age, having lived 73 years, 5 months and 4 days. Deceased was born in the state of New York and came to Iowa in 1863; she was the mother of six children, five of whom survive her. Her husband died about fifteen years ago. Mrs. Ostrander was a member of the Free Baptist church and lived the life of a consistent Christian. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church, Dickens, Monday, at 3 p.m. and were conducted by Rev. J.E. Abramson, pastor of the Free Baptist church, Spencer, and Rev. Benton, of Dickens. The remains were buried in the Dickens cemetery.
