George Morgan Near Peterson Commits Suicide, Leaving Note Explaining Why He Had Done So
A young woman had entered the life of George Morgan near Peterson, his relatives took a hand in the matter and he resolved to start all over again and be a dutiful husband and father. But the brooding was too much. On Friday, May 26, he committed suicide at his home southwest of Peterson. However few details of the affair have been given out by the family, with the exception that he left a note, assuming full blame for the act, stating that he had been unable to sleep and saying that suicide was the only course to pursue.
Mr. Morgan was thirty-five years of age and leaves a wife and five children. All of his life had been spent around Peterson with the exception of a few months in Louisiana. He was married on December 19, 1904, to Miss Petrea Gena (?) Hyllested at Peterson. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in the latter city on Sunday of last week and interment was made at Oakland cemetery.
