Theodore M. Scholer, a young man living four miles west of Rossie, after a few days illness died on Dec. 31st. C. F. Scholer, with his wife, son and daughter, Elsie, moved from Kansas to Clay county nine years ago. Two and one-half years ago Mrs. Scholer died, and now the son has passed away. The deceased has always been strong and the sudden death was a shock to the community as well as a deep sorrow to the father and sister. He was held in the highest esteem and was a member of the Epworth League at Willow Creek. It seems strange that the League topic assigned him six months ago for Dec. 17 was a "A Well Spent Life and Its Close." Rom. 14: 7-8, 2nd Tim. 4: 6-8. Read these references. Rev. M. D. Bush used these verses as a text at the funeral services held at the home on Tuesday. The father and sister accompanied the body to Lexington, Neb., where it will be laid to rest by the remains of his mother.
