Christian Hanson of Dickens passed away at the Methodist hospital at Des Moines Monday, June 13, following a surgical operation.
Mr. Hanson was born in Sweden, May 5, 1863. He came to this country in the spring of 1888, and made his home in Clay county. He lived on a farm in Logan township until 1918 when he moved to Dickens, which has since been his home.
In 1892 he was united in marriage to Carrie Nelson. To this union four girls were born Mrs. August Nelson, Mrs. Fred Mishler and Mrs. Enoch Johnson, all living in the Dickens community and Miss Hilda Hanson who preceded her father in death a few years ago.
Besides his wife and daughters he is survived by one brother, James, a sister, Mrs. Ole Johnson and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Hanson became a member of the Swedish Lutheran church as a boy and had faithfully lived up to its teachings. He was a kind and loving husband and father, a true friend and a good neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him.
