Cecelia Grace Killmer, the daughter of Hans and Elizabeth Gross Asmussen, was born January 30, 1917 in Rural Clay County, Iowa near Everly. Her childhood years were spent on a farm near Moneta, where she received her education in Everly.

Cecelia married George Killmer on February 28, 1946 in Royal, Iowa. Following their marriage, they lived on a farm south of Everly and near Moneta for 32 years, until moving to a house in Everly in 1977. She worked as a cook at the Moneta and Everly School for 15 years. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Mrs. Killmer passed away at Longhouse Residence in Spencer, Iowa on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; one grandchild; one step-great grandchild; three brothers: Joseph, Frankie and Dale; one sister, Mary Elizabeth who died in infancy and daughter-in-law, Diane Killmer.

She is survived by one daughter: Rosemary Thornley of Adel, IA; two sons: David Killmer of Everly, IA and Gary Killmer and his wife, LaVonne of Estherville, IA; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; eight step-great grandchildren; half sister, Dora Mae Pedersen; sister-in-law, Florence Asmussen; other relatives and many friends.
